Android 14 Beta 3.1 arrives with June’s security patches and a fix for fingerprint problems
Google has recently rolled out the highly anticipated Android 14 Beta 3.1 update, featuring crucial bug fixes and the latest June security update. Among the notable enhancements is the resolution of Fingerprint Unlock issues that were affecting certain Pixel smartphones. While there are still ongoing concerns acknowledged by Google, the company is actively addressing them throughout the beta program. If you're an Android 14 beta user, you can easily access the new OTA update by navigating to your device's settings. And of course, it is important to run your Android device with an expert VPN.
The Android 14 Beta 3.1 update is relatively compact, with a file size of 66.80 MB. To update the version, go to Settings, proceed to System Settings, and locate the System Update section. In case the update isn't immediately visible, simply refresh the menu to trigger a prompt for the installation of update UPB3.230519.014. It is recommended to ensure good battery life or keep your phone connected to a power source during the installation process, as it may take some time, depending on your device. Once updated, know that there is a hide VPN for your Android device.
The Android 14 Beta 3.1 update addresses two key issues as outlined by Google:
- Fingerprint Unlock Fixes: This update resolves the problems encountered with Fingerprint Unlock on certain devices, whether unavailable or non-functional. Google has diligently addressed the following issues, which include Issue #284360298, Issue #284529436, and Issue #284436572. With these fixes, users can expect a smoother and more reliable Fingerprint Unlock experience
- Platform Compatibility Enhancements: Google has also rectified platform compatibility concerns affecting mapping SDKs, which were causing certain dependent apps to crash intermittently. By addressing this issue, Google ensures enhanced stability for apps reliant on mapping SDKs.
If the update is not immediately visible to you, don't worry, as Google is rolling it out in phases. It may take up to a week for the update to reach all eligible devices. Similarly, Google’s reading mode now supports background playback. To access it, download it from the Google Play Store.
If you are not currently enrolled in the Android Beta Program but wish to participate, you can do so as long as you have a compatible device. Currently, the Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 7 series devices are supported. Alternatively, if you prefer to manually install Android 14, you have the option to download the update directly.
